Gameplay animator

In our Art team located in Prague, we are currently looking for an open-minded talent who is enthusiastic about Game Animation. Grip Studios portfolio consists of a variety of projects ranging from the development of in-house game titles to co-development with AAA gaming studio teams and porting among different platforms.

 

What does our Animator do:

  • Creating and maintaining quality animations that fulfill the needs of a given project (using Maya, MotionBuilder, or Python batch tools)
  • In-game implementation and optimization of gameplay animation features and assets in cooperation with the tech team
  • Close cooperation with other Animators and Designers
  • Developing and improving in-game animation systems, animation trees, and tools in cooperation
  • Establishing and maintaining the animation pipeline, folders, naming conventions, and engine-related structures
  • Prototyping the visual part of new gameplay mechanics
  • Preparing materials for mocap sessions in collaboration with designers and directing the sessions

 

What do we need:

  • Experience with keyframe animation (realistic and stylized)
  • Experience with processing motion capture data
  • Strong knowledge of core animation principles and body mechanics
  • Experience with establishing a pipeline for Animation
  • Knowledge of animation features and implementation in Unreal Engine or any other game engine
  • Understanding of modern animation systems: State machines, Blend Trees, Blendspaces, and Procedural Animation constructions
  • Knowledge of game animation systems architecture
  • Basic knowledge of Scripting or Visual Scripting (Blueprints, Python, etc.)

Game UX Designer

Our teams in Prague and Brno are currently looking for the right talent to join us. In our portfolio, we have different projects ranging from porting on different platforms, co-development with interesting teams from worldwide known studios, up to the development of our game titles. You will have the opportunity to work on designing unique user-focused experiences for various games.

 

 What does our UX Designer do? 

  • Develops new UX for different kinds of platforms (PC, PS, Xbox, Smartphones, and Switch).
  • Collaborates with Game Designers to create and turn the game design or goal into the best experience for the end-users - the players.
  • Comes up with creative and effective UX solutions.
  • Creates wireframes, wireflows, and interactive prototypes.
  • Produces clear documentation, easily understandable for all the project members.
  • Creates and follows style guides.

 

What do we need you to have?

  • At least 2 years of working experience in UX Design (preferably software design, but not necessarily games design).
  • Experience with Figma, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Passion for games - we are looking for an active gamer :).
  • Ability to work with the whole game's UI. See the bigger picture, understand the impact of small changes on the entire design, and adapt the flow accordingly.
  • Experience with graphic design and typography.
  • Communication skills across the teams (Designers and Engineers).
  • English is a must, as we are working in international environments.
  • Portfolio including your UX designs.

 

Nice to haves:

  • Education in the field of art.
  • Knowledge of any of the following: After Effects, Unreal, Adobe XD, Noesis.
